A new garment factory in Rwanda's Special Economic Zone

The DIKAM garment factory in the Rwanda Special Economic Zone

As Rwanda positioned itself as a hub for manufacturing in Africa, DIKAM made its biggest move yet: a purpose-built garment factory in the Rwanda Special Economic Zone (SEZ), which became operational in 2024. The facility was valued at over US$1.6 million — a significant investment in the future of Rwanda's textile and garment industry.

The SEZ location was chosen deliberately: access to export markets, logistical advantages and a business-friendly regulatory framework. The move let DIKAM consolidate its production processes under one roof, adopt modern machinery, and dramatically increase its capacity for institutional and private-label orders.

Inside the DIKAM factory

The factory was never just a building. It brought hundreds of jobs — with DIKAM's deliberate focus on hiring women and youth — and anchored the company's commitment to the Made in Rwanda movement. Every story on this page since, from training-centre graduations to international recognition, happened inside these walls.
