School study tours: showing students where garments come from

High-school students in white shirts and ties pose with a DIKAM host outside the factory offices

Several times a term, a bus of uniformed students pulls up at DIKAM. They come for a study tour: a walk through the production floor, the cutting tables and the embroidery section, and a chance to ask questions of people doing the work.

We say yes to these visits for a simple reason. Most students have never seen industrial manufacturing up close, and you cannot aspire to a career you have never seen. If a single student leaves thinking "I could build something like this", the tour has paid for itself.
